Our Book Review Policy
We are currently open to review requests!
We only review children’s books. This includes board books, picture books, early readers, chapter books, and middle grade books, in any genre.
Preferred formats: print copy (ARC, hardcover, or paperback), but we will also accept digital copies
We post honest reviews. Your book will be reviewed from both an adult’s and child’s perspective; if one or both of us do not enjoy the book, we will say so (politely, of course). We review books to get our readers excited about reading, so if we don’t think your book has that potential, we will let our readers know. Consequently, if you are not ok with the possibility of a less-than-glowing review, please choose another blogger to contact. Reviews will be posted here on our blog as well as on Instagram, Facebook, and possibly Twitter.
Our turnaround time is about one month. Since we are a mommy-daughter team, we have to take care of our teaching, homework, gymnastics, and chores first. ☺
Submit your book for review via our contact form or by emailing natasha@joyousroar.com. Please include the title, author, release date, a short summary, and any other information you would like us to know.
For Our Readers
We are not compensated in any way for our opinions. We get the vast majority of our books from our local library and personal purchases. If we receive a free copy of a book for review from the publisher or author, we will disclose that on the blog post. Free review copies do not influence our opinions or reviews in any way.
